La Puerta 2010 Malbec
From the La Rioja province in the greater Cuyo Region in the northwestern area of Argentina. The vineyards are located in the Famatina Valley, near the town of Chilecito, 3,280 feet above sea level. The climate is semi-arid with large temperature swings between day and night. The soil is deep sandy-clay of alluvial origin. Drip irrigation from underground wells is used during bud break (Sept.-Oct.) & after the harvest.
Grapes: Malbec
Viniculture: Hand harvested, barrel aged – new wine is blended 50/50 with wine that has been aged 6 months in American & French oak
Alcohol: 13.5% vol.
Tasting Notes
Appearance: Dark ruby red in color
Nose: This wine shows ripe fruit characteristics of plum, blackberry & mulberry with hints of mocha & vanilla oak.
Palate: Silky smooth with juicy berry fruit balanced with soft round tannins on the elegant long finish.

Mauricio Lorca 2006 Temático Reserva Malbec
From winemaker Mauricio Lorca, this winery is located at 25 km from the city of Mendoza, in the high area of Mendoza River. The vineyards are situated in the Vista Flores part of the Tunuyán district, in the heart of the Uco Valley. The vines grow at an altitude of 1050 meters above sea level & have very low yields thus concentrating the fruit, creating focused aromas, brilliant colors & soft tannins. Northwest to Southeast slopes allow for longer sun exposure during the morning & protection during the afternoon. The soil is permeable, sandy, deep, & free of hard layers that are the result of its stony makeup.
Grapes: 100 % Malbec
Viniculture: Hand harvested, aged for 12 months in French & American oak barrels
Alcohol: 14% vol.
Tasting Notes
Appearance: Deep violet-red color
Nose: Spicy aromas of black pepper & mint.
Palate: Robust structure & depth lead to great complexity, smoothness with an elegant finish in this well balanced wine.

Cruz de Piedra 2006 Red Blend
Bodega Cruz de Piedra is a family-owned winery founded in 1973 by Sigifredo Alonso in Lujan de Cuyo, Mendoza. This award winning wine is the creation of winemaker Daniel Ekkert.
Grapes: 60% Malbec, 30% Cabernet Sauvignon & 10% Petit Verdot.
Viniculture: Aged for 18 months in new French oak barrels
Tasting Notes
Appearance: Intense ruby red in color
Nose: Blackberries, cassis, spice & oak
Palate: Medium-full body with rich flavors of dark berries, chocolate & mint. It has a silky texture with soft tannins & a long, velvety finish. It can be enjoyed now & will continue to improve with age for another 6-8 years
